Creativity, fashion, and good days
Valerie Sanson

“When wearing my jewelry, you simply can’t have a bad day.” Valerie Sanson’s exuberantly unique design style evolved right in her hometown of Richmond, Virginia.

Valerie honed her unique style as a fashion coordinator for the famed Thalhimers department store. Through attending haute couture fashion shows, reporting the latest trends to buyers and fashion forecasting, Sanson developed heightened fashion and retail awareness.

Eventually, Sanson applied her retail knowledge to her own venture and opened one of Richmond’s most stylish and imaginative home accessories and gift boutiques, Lane Sanson.

While attending markets scouting out new inventory for Lane Sanson in summer of 2003, Sanson found herself wandering through a gem and mineral show.

She was captivated by the amazing array of semi-precious gems and pearls. The endless combinations of  colors and shapes inspired her. Unable to resist, Sanson bought some stones to construct a necklace for herself. Shortly thereafter, Valerie launched her own jewelry line.

Valerie’s collection can be found in many museum shops like at Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (Richmond), the Chrysler Museum of Art (Norfolk), The Phillips Collection (Washington, DC), and The Baltimore Museum of Art.
